Tumbuhan yang juga kerap ditanam di kuburan itu kini menjelma menjadi bagian dari mode. Dengan cara apa? Era Sukamto menjawabnya. Perancang yang dulu sempat bekerja sama dengan Ichwan Thoha membentuk label Urcan Crew ini membuat batik puring. Batik ini mengambil kecantikan motif tanaman puring serta pewarnaan dari daun puring yang memiliki warna beragam. “Pewarnaan dengan bahan-bahan alam, tapi tidak hanya dari croton. Ada pula yang menggunakan pewarna kimia,” kata Era usai peragaan koleksi batik puring dengan label Gaia di Balai Sidang Jakarta, Jumat (20/3). Peragaan koleksi itu digelar usai memperkenalkan batik puring pada pengunjung Pameran Dekranas pada 17-22 Maret. Sudah satu tahun belakangan ini Era menggeluti puring.
